DIRECTORS UPDATE - ROLES AVAILABLE

DIRECTORS UPDATE - ROLES AVAILABLE

The last couple of months have seen some very intensive time investment to review, plan and implement various changes in order to give the MAC the best possible opportunity for future sustainability.

We were very pleased to receive a vote of confidence from the July Parish council meeting where the councillors were encouraged by the direction the MAC is heading and have chosen to once again invest financially in the MAC to support the developments.

Although this investment on its own will not bring  the long term sustainability needed, it will allow a bit more time for commercial developments, cost efficiencies and a shift in the business model to have a positive impact on the cashflow.

A variety of recommendations from the full review have been implemented and now we move into the most critical phase which involves shifting the MAC into a model which requires a mix of paid and volunteer teams to take responsibility for the ongoing running of the centre.

It is this unique mix of felt ownership that not only sustains the financial model of the centre, but also allows the MAC to be a vibrant community hub utilising the gifts and talents of the local communities it is meant to serve.

The MAC was never meant to be run by a closed group of people who decide of behalf of the community, but a large number of the local community who invest in and bring a collaborative approach to the centre.

As such there are now a number of initial roles we are seeking to fill to begin the building of a team who will be key in building towards the future.

DIRECTORS

The volunteer directors are responsible for making sure that the MAC has a sustainable future, meeting the legal, financial and operational requirements of the centre.

COORDINATORS

The coordinators are a team of volunteers who take on key roles which shape the MACs business model and facilitate the functional running of the centre.

STAFF TEAM

There will always be a paid staff team needed to run the day to day needs of the centre and are key to building relationships with all the users of the centre.

VOLUNTEER TEAM

Alongside the larger roles of directors and coordinators, there is a need for a number of volunteers who can be part of the team to help to invest in the MAC to sustain the aesthetics of the building and be available to get stuck in where needed.

If we are going to see a viable, vibrant hub in the local community then it will require all of us to take part.
